4 Romantic Places in Austin to Take Engagement Photos

So, you’ve gotten engaged. You’ll want to announce it to the entire world, so you’re going to need to get some beautiful, professional engagement pictures done. Even if you both aren’t on social media, it’s still nice to have a photo to put on your wedding website and invitations.

Luckily for you, if you live in the Austin area, you have a lot of beautiful spots where you can take your photos that will make you look back on the special day in fondness.

To help you find some of these perfect areas to take your pictures here are some of the most romantic places in Austin.

Mayfield Park looks beautiful year round. This beautifully kept park also is home to a few peacocks that roam the grounds freely. Mayfield park is also an event venue.

Even though you can go any time, if you wait until the spring, you’ll be able to take your pictures amongst the bluebonnets.

2. Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center

If you want to go with a mother nature sort of look, you’ll want to go to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. No matter what season you go there will be a wide array of colorful flowers that you can take pictures with.

There is also an ivy-covered wall that you can take photos in front of and plenty of bright green fields.

3. Commons Ford Ranch Park

This place is a little lesser known, and if you want to take your pictures here, you’ll have to park your car and walk a little bit to reach it. The walk is completely worth it for the variety though.

Commons Ford Ranch Park is huge, so you can kind of pick and choose where you want to have your pictures done. There are winding pathways and no lack of grassy green fields.

4. South Congress Ave.

If you and your fiance are more of the city type, then you can take a few urban style photos at South Congress Ave. There are several buildings that you take your picture in front of. One of the most popular choices is the I love you so much mural at Joe’s Hot Coffee.

If you want to add a little bit of a natural flair with the urban, there are ivy-covered walls that you can use as a backdrop.

5. Zilker Park and Lou Neff Point

Zilker Park has a long winding trail that will take you to Lou Neff Point which puts you near Lake Austin. While these two spots are amazing to take pictures at, you can also get a bunch of nice shots walking along the path to get to them.

When you get engaged not only do you want to take pictures to announce it, but you also need photos to include in your invitations and on your wedding website. We hope that you’ll consider some of these romantic places in Austin when it’s time to take your snapshots.
